A Michigander by birth, Ryan and his family moved southward in June of 2008 to join us as our Headmaster. In Michigan, he worked 10 years as the principal of the same Christian school he attended for his whole primary education.
Ryan and his wife, Christie, met in 1st grade. He felt slighted in 5th grade when she didn’t respond soon enough to his “do you like me?” note. But, after a cooling down period, they got engaged shortly after they had both graduated from college. They have been married since 1999, and have four boys (Karsten, Haddon, Lincoln and Knox) and then had a girl (Claire) in September. They have a high and noble vision of parenthood and are excited to be involved in seeing JECA started for God’s glory.
Ryan has a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration, a vision for God-centeredness, and a love of old books and Pilgrim history.
